Emotion MIDI Listener

Click “Enable Audio & MIDI” to start
Setup
  1. Open this page in Chrome on a Mac (that's the only setup it's tested on).
  2. Open the Motion-into-MIDI capture (CC 16–22 preset) in another window.
  3. In that window, enable your webcam and MIDI.
  4. Select your camera / external webcam from the dropdown.
  5. First time only: turn on your IAC bus — open Audio MIDI Setup → MIDI Studio → IAC Driver and check “Device is online,” or see this guide.
  6. Make sure IAC Driver Bus 1 is selected as the MIDI output.
  7. Come back to this window and press “Enable Audio & MIDI.”
  8. Confirm the status above reads Listening on: IAC Driver Bus 1.
  9. Make a face at the camera — the most prominent emotion plays on loop, and the bars track each channel.
  10. Refresh this page to stop playback.

Debugging: make sure your computer volume is turned up.

Open in Chrome or Edge over localhost. The loudest channel above the floor plays on loop.
Open the capture link above, point its MIDI output to the IAC Driver Bus, and the bars below will start moving.
